Suggest Treatment For Blood In Stool

I have been loosing weight for the last 3 months and eating well. I take vitamins and eat as much greens as possible along with organic green smoothies and juices that are natural. I have noticed that my stool is always green and I do not go often like before. usually 1-2 times a day at the most were as before when I was eating all the wrong things and not exercising I went 3-4 times a day. do I have something wrong with me internally that I need to see my doctor? I also noticed that I think I might have hemorrhoids because I have a bit of irritation after using the rest room and it is a bit sore. I noticed just a little bit of blood when wiping. It is a light red and very minimal. Can you give me some of your thoughts. Thanks

Hi.
Thanks for your query in HCM. I am Dr. Aliem, and I am pleased to answer your query.

Your symptoms of green stools/bleeding per anum and loss of weight do need further testing. If I were your treating physician, I would order some stool tests for you, to detect infections. If it were due to infection alone, you will be fine with some antibiotics and probiotics.

Also, I may have to do a digital rectal examination to detect any abnormality in your lower bowel. This means, examination your anal passage with my gloved finger. Your symptoms may be due to haemorrhoids or fissure-in-ano, both of which have medical and surgical management options.

If needed, you may need to undergo colonoscopy test. i.e endoscopic examination of your large intestine and terminal part of small intestine. Please consult your physician at the earliest.

Hope this helps.

feel free to post further queries if any . I will be glad to answer them.
