Suggest Treatment For Blood Clot On Knee Cap After An Injury

Hi. I m currently taking an antibiotic for cellulitis in my leg and I just banged my knee cap on the corner of our bed frame and got a huge knot and it bled a tiny bit but then clotted immediately almost. Do I need to worry about a blood clott forming ?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

A blood clot would normally form in the leg not at the level of the knee.

Decreased mobility increases the risk of a blood clot so if your mobility has decreased because of the cellulitis and the trauma to your knee then there is an increased risk of a clot occurring.

You would need to keep as mobile as possible.

I hope this helps
