After 5 days now I feel pain in thumb and it is very hard with a light yellow spot visible on my nail. I am 170 Pounds, Male, 6 feet 2inchs tall and age 21.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

The injury has caused blood collection under the nail called hematoma. The hematoma changes its color over a period of time from yellow to green to blue. Pain can be due to trauma to the thumb. You can take a pain killer for the thumb pain.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
