Suggest Treatment For Blockage In Food Pipe

Dear Sir A Lady is 93 yrs old , she is suffering from food pipe it is geeting blocked . Therefore endoscopy was three times done and dilation carried out once in Feb , and in July and third Sept. But no improvement was noticed . In last four days the problem has become acute and not able to even drink water . So Today Dr. tried to inspect it for another dialiasation but found it is very tight and could not do it . She could not take food for last 2 days . Therefore saline is being given . What are the solutions to treat it . Request by return mail your advice .

Hi.
The solution to the not amenable stricture in esophagus in a lady who is old- 93 years is to go for to go for feeding jejunostomy.
This will give rest to the esophagus, the edema will get reduced and then the esophagus may be amenable o dilatation. If so , advised to put a metallic stent in the esophagus for permanent dilation.
