Suggest Treatment For Blisters On The Penis

I ve been taking doxycycline hyclate for the past week for a bacteria infection in my eye lid. The other day I woke up with a blister on my penis shaft that eventually busted with clear fluid. I ve been married for the past 6 months and have not slept with anyone else. Is this possibly a side effect from the medication? I haven t schedule a doctor appointment yet. I wanted to see if it would heal after a few days.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

In my opinion, it is not a side effect of the medication. It is possibly herpes simplex 2 which can cause blisters on genitals. A physical examination can confirm the diagnosis.

Meanwhile, you can apply Acyclovir cream for local relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
