Since 2012 i start 37.5 of prolixin shot every 2week the abscess bleed then they heal up but they keep on recurring after 4day of prolixin shot. 1 months ago I saw medical doctor she told me she going to send me to infection control and they will make decisions if is prolixin. Hi,

Three things to be taken care of to prevent recurrence.
1. Total excision of abscess cavity. Partial excision will cause recurrence
2. Carrier stage should be treated. Applying Mupirocin cream around the perineum fro 3 weeks will remove staphylococcal carriage. A swab test will detect carriage.
3. Finally, we have to rule out inflammatory bowel disease like Crohn's in case of recurrent perianal abscesses.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
