Suggest Treatment For Bleeding From Injection Site After Plasma Donation
I donate plasma twice a week. About the last month the injection site still bleeds when i remove the wrap the plasma center puts on. I am not on any blood thinners. Was wondering what might be causing it do this? It does bleed severely, and if i put a regular bandaid on it has stopped bleeding about a half hour later.

Hi,
You need to have a clotting profile as if clotting factor deficiencies or decreased functioning may present like this. PT/ apTT, as well as Bleeding time or clotting time, may be needed. Platelets counts must be normal as they screen before donation but functions of platelets will be determined with BT/ CT.
