Suggest Treatment For Bladder Infection While On Ciprofloxacin

Hi! A doctor confirmed that I have a bladder infection yesterday. I ve had it for a couple of weeks now. I do get them from time to time. Anyway, he prescribed a drug called Ciprofloxacin 250 mg tablets 10 tabs in 5 days. When I went to pick up the prescription I was told it has a LOT of side effects including a rupture of the tendons. I don t want that, nor any other side effects. Pharmacist called my clinic to get the prescription changed this morning. Now they left a message to call them back. She is now on lunch. The last time I had a prescription for a bladder infection was in 2013 for macrobid capsules. I did NOT have any problem with that drug. What should I do?

Hi i do care for your concern.
The drug macrobid is used only for un-complicated urinary tract infection, and it is also active against only a few bacteria.
The drug cipro is recommended and the dosage that you are taking is minimal and may not lead to the complications you have mentioned.
It is advisable to continue the same dosage.
Regarding frequent infection, it is advisable to maintain adequate hygiene using anti septic soap will help a lot.
