Suggest Treatment For Bipolar Disorder

I have BiPoler disorder and have been living with it with medical help. A few months ago I mentioned to my Psychiatrist that I felt I was getting more editable. I ve been on Lithium and Mirtazapine to help me sleep. My Doc change me to stop the Mirtazapine and put me on Citalopram Hydrobrom. Around a week into to it I couldn t walk around my house without dancing off the walls. I was unfit to drive and could hardly make it out to check my mail. I Stopped the Citalopram and I m now trying to change to another Doctor. My question is, What are the medications that have been used to treat BiPoler Disorder with the best results?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

I would advise you to slowly taper off the drug meth and get rid of it. As far as the problem of bipolar goes, potent mood stabilizer drugs are available in the market that can treat your condition. Remember meth will worsen the condition.

Mood stabilizers are recommended. Consult a local psychiatrist. Bipolar has a fair prognosis provided you comply well to medications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
