Suggest Treatment For Bilateral Kidney Stones

I have been to the er and twice in the past week. I was diagnosed with bilateral kidney stones and pylonephritis. I m on antibiotics and taking them faithfully. Yet the pain isn t going away and all my labs come back normal. How do I make the er staff realize there is something going on without them getting a psych consult. This is not in my head.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

As per your history, it may be due to Renal stone.

For stone less than 4 mm get cleared by hydration therapy for that keep yourself hydrated.

In case of larger stones you may require surgical intervention after Urologist consultation.

For pain you can take tablet acetaminophen.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shyam B. Kale, General & Family Physician
