Suggest Treatment For Big Lump On Head After An Injury

I was punched in the head multiple times yesterday and a big lump formed. Now, it hurts when it's touched or when I try to open my mouth to eat food. I have a slight headache, and am a little dizzy? Should I just wait it out and how long will it take for this lump to go away?

Hello,

Given the type of trauma, you had some symptoms such as mild headache are to expect. The lump, bothering as it is, doesn't indicate any brain damage. It will take some time for the swelling to subside. So unless the headache increases in intensity or there are new manifestations such as seizures, vision loss or double vision, weakness of the limbs on one side etcetera there is no reason for panic, should wait it out.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olsi Taka
