Suggest Treatment For Bad Odour Urination

Hi, I ve recently noticed that my urine has a bad odor, at least I think it s my urine. What could that be a result of, possibly, & should I see a specialist? Also, I take a regimen of pills, (2 narcs., Celebrex, Lexapro, Boniva, extra calcium, Complex B, Turmeric, Topamax, Aciphex). These I take due to having RSD, Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, which is, of course, a incurable chronic, severe nerve pain disorder that I ve had for 13 yrs. I offered that info not knowing if the pills may have an effect on my original question. So, thanking you in advance, I ll await your reply. SE

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Chronic long term use of narcotics may alter the urine pH homeostasis and secondary bacterial infection. My suggestions at present:
- Plenty of liquids
- Citrus fruits intake
- Cranberry sachet or pills
- Vaginal hygiene
- Safe sex practice
- Control of blood sugar
- A report of urine microscopy in the lab

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
