Pulmonologist 's  Response
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Atelectesis is partial collapse of part of lung.
Most common cause for this is mucus collection in lungs.
So treatment of atelectesis is
1. Broad spectrum antibiotic like levofloxacin or azithromycin once a day.
2. Mucolytic and expectorant drugs like ambroxol, guafenesin and terbutaline.
3. N acetyl cystine (NAC)
4. Chest physiotherapy and deep breathing exercises.
So consult pulmonologist and discuss all these.
Don't worry, your atelectesis will be improved with above treatment.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
