My left arch of my foot has collapsed and is now irritating my left knee which is arthritic and I am in severe pain 24/7.My podiatrist says I need surgery but I don't have insurance. So I went to a learning hospital to see if they could help. I am a nurse and would like to get this problem resolved.

you can try foot flat exercises... like placing a thin towel on ground and with help of curl the towel in... repeat it as many times as possible.. also place a medial arch in the sole of the shoes this will help a bit not much. unless you wont transfer your weigth on outer edge it will not help you much... but continuing these exercise will prevent further damage
