My girlfriend lost her baby around 2 years ago to her previous partner and ever since has been suffering anxiety/panic attacks where she is feeling really run down and has flashbacks but cant recall what they are of. Recently this has became worse than what it was when it started. Is their anything i can do to help her?
Hello Welcome to HCM. Panic attacks and flashbacks after a traumatic event can be due to Post traumatic stress disorder. There two options for its treatment. One is drugs like paroxetine or escitalopram which are antidepressants and also have anxiolytic properties. Other is psychological treatments like cognitive and behaviour therapies. You must take her to a psychiatrist and discuss about this. Also you can advice her to practice relaxation therapies like deep breathing and yoga to keep mibd at peace. Hope this helps. Thanks.
