Suggest Treatment For Anxiety Disorder

Hello, my name is Katie and ive suffered from anxiety my whole life with disabling effecfs in my early twenties. I also have a severe scoliosis and have muscle spasms which is worse when my anxiety is high as my whole body feels like there is a low grade electrical current ,but persistent comes and goes keeping me feeling achy. I had weaned myself off all meducations over the last ten years, I am now 35 years old and I take gabapentin as the only pharmaceutical. However a few nights ago I has such a nast back spasm and sever pain I could not move my neck and could not sleep resukting in even worse anxiety. My GP concented to giving me 2mg of diazepam for a few days which hasnt helped much and so ive increased it to 6mg and still no affect. If anything I feel a bit more anxious , only slightly. My GP is not sure why the diazepam is making me more anxious and he checked Mims to interaction with Gabapentin. I did find years ago that i recieved relief from Xanax. Any suggestions?

Hi.

I understand your concern.

Symptoms that have you mentioned in your question are suggestive of anxiety disorder.

Gabapentine is act as anxiolytic but it helps in mild anxiety. Moderate to severe anxiety associated with depressive features also.

Need to treat with long acting anxiolytic like xanax.

It can be treated with medicine like combination of SSRI and anxiolytic. Anxiolytic like clonazepam and lorazepam can be useful.

Sertraline / escitalopram / peroxetine in a low dose can be beneficial.

Exercise and meditation / sleep and diet / relaxation and deep breathing can help.

I hope I have answered your question. Thank you.
