Suggest Treatment For Ankle Pain

I have alot of pain in my ankle. There are no bruises, no swelling. But, above the ankle bone, the pain shoots across the front of my ankle and up the side of my calf. I work on my feet, I carry buckets of paint, climb ladders and walk all day. I may have twisted it coming off a ladder. Its ok while standing, but walking is painful and going up stairs or ladders is very painful. Do I have to see a Dr?

thank you for posting your query in healthcaremagic.com....

see from what you said about your occupation, it is not uncommon to twist an ankle or hurt your foot while doing work....you might not have noticed that earlier and now the pain makes you concerned....the way you describe the pain like shooting pain, there can be a nerve involvement...otherwise it can be a simple sprain or tendon injury...
take tab ibuprofen 400 twice daily for 5 days
take tab pantoprazole 40 once daily for 5 days
take rest and restrict movement of the limb

if it does not decrease in 2-3 days with medication, you should see an ORTHOPEADICIAN...

hope this was helpful....
