Suggest Treatment For Anal Genital Herpes

I was on Acyclovir as a genital herpes suppression drug for many years. However, in order for me to get my Shingles shot, I had to get off the Acyclovir for one day, take the shot, then remain off the Acycloivir for two weeks. I did not return to taking the Acyclovir because I thought maybe I had some resistance and was in the clear. An fter I had my colonoscopy, I developed anal genital herpes. I returned to taking my Acyclovir. 1-400mg pill three times a day for five days. Than I will go back to my normal 2X day suppression therapy. Is the 1-400mg pill three times a day for five days the correct dosage?
