Suggest Treatment For An Injury In The Ear Caused While Boxing

I got slapped on my right ear, but it was an accident during a quick slap boxing. It feels like the feeling when on a plane during descending or ascending. When I breathe in through my nose I can feel air come into my ear and when I hold my nose and breathe out I can feel air come out. Is it just ear barotrauma or is it worse???

Hi,i got through your question and understand your question.
I have seen so many patient like this in my clinic.
If was your treating doctor i would first examin your right ear then compare with the left one
On otoscopic examination perforation of tempanic membrane is likely the possibilty.
Then i would put you on conservative management i.e
Antihistaminic to keep your eustachian tube
Open, antibiotic like ciprofloxacin if their if evidence of infection
More important is AVOID BLOWING OF NOSE. And quikly get treatment for your common cold if it occurs.
Follow up after 3 month is advised, if tempanic membrane fails to heal with conservative treatment surgical treatment like MERINGOPLASTY is next option.
I hope my answer will help you.
