Suggest Treatment For Amoebiasis In An Infant

My 40 day old was diagnosed with amoebiasis (parasite and eggs present). He had no fever and was flagyl. So far he is pooping less and blood strands in his poop are not bright red. However his poop has turned green mostly and the yellow part of his poo seems sticky. The green part is more solid. His poops are not watery. Is this normal? What should i looke out for?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Amoebiasis will respond well to Flagyl.
Nothing much to worry and the symptoms will settle in couple of days. Altered stool color and consistency is quite common and has got no clinical significance.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
