I get these clear/white scabs in my right nostril on the bone side. My nostril swells up. I also have allergies. When I blow my nose it s always clear but sometimes little spats of blood come out. What do you think is causing the scabs/ built up skin ?
Hello, Due to your allergies, this is most likely due to inflammation and dryness of the delicate tissue. First try to hydrate. This includes saline spray, drinking plenty of water and use of a humidifier. Try to eliminate any exposure to irritants including smoking and inhalation of any chemicals. Wear a protective mask around irritants. Evaluate wear you spend your time during the day and night for patterns that indicate an irritant such as mold. Common medications to battle allergies have a drying effect and this nasal tissue may suffer the consequences. Do you take any other medications that may have dryness as a side effect? Some systemic factors can cause issues that would be of concern. Make sure you have a prper diet without deficiencies. Basic blood tests can monitor this. Increase in frequency of a bloody nose is a condition that should be addressed. Consider an exam with your doctor, ENT or allergist if your condition worsens or persists. Thank you for your inquiry. I hope you find this information helpful and I hope you feel better soon.
