Suggest Treatment For Acute Pancreatitis

I have acute pancreatitis, I was diagnosed and had surgery 18 years ago with many attacks after. I now am having more severe attacks and have lost 20 pounds. The doctors that I am seeing are saying I must get a referral somewhere and in the meanwhile, I could die? What should I do?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have acute pancreatitis . Well acute pancreatitis is treated in hospital, where you'll be closely monitored for signs of serious problems and given supportive treatment, such as fluids and oxygen. Body will get dehydrated in acute pancreatitis and IV fluid will be given otherwise there will be hypovolemic shock. You should stop eating for few days so that pancreas can rest properly .In severe case there will be surgery like galbladder and pancreatic surgery .

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well Soon.

Best Wishes,
