Suggest Treatment For Aching Head Even With Touch

Hi, I am a 19 year old female and I have been having headaches for the past couple of months and they are getting worse. The whole head will hurt during these headaches but the lower back of my head is where it truly hurts. It is very tender and hurts to touch. It feels like a lot of pressure. Sometimes with my head/neck pains my spine will even start hurting. I went to the doctor twice and she believes it is just stress but the fact that my head hurts to touch kind of scares me. And the pain is only getting worse. My dad was thinking about bringing me to get a catscan. Would you recommend that?

Hi, headache is the most common symptom in medical science. Normally females suffer more than men. Tension headache, migraine and cluster headache are the most common type of headache. In your age other reasons are sinusitis and refractory errors(far vision problem).
So you should go to ophthalmologist and check your eyes for numbers if you feel so. You can go for X-ray PNS to rule out sinusitis.
Considering your history I guess you are suffering form migraine like headache in which two types of medicines are there. One is prophylactic like flunarizine,propranolol which are to prevent headache. While second is pain killer which you take when your headache starts.
If you do not have symptoms like double vision,ear nose throat bleeding,head injury or loss of consciousness , you should not go for CT scan.
First go to doctor, take treatment for migraine if it is there, and if still not relived you can go for CT or MRI of Brain.
