Suggest Treatment For Accidental Ingestion Of Aspirin By A Child

My neighbour s 3-year-old, Mick, got the aspirin bottle and ate half of its contents. The baby-sitter didn t know what to do and called me for help. I get the baby-sitter to call for the ambulance and they tell him to give Mick a glass of water while they come round. What should I do while I wait?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi
Ensure plenty of water ingestion. A gastric lavage and charcoal ingestion will be useful once emergency team arrives.
