Suggest Treatment For Abdominal Pain And Fever

I have a hernia that was repaired but now has reoccurred. After cardiology rehab exercise I suffered abdominal pain and then fever that came and went. I want to exercise but three days after having the pain I continue to hurt. Doctor does not want to do the repair again.

Hi thanks for posting on HCM, I think you refer here for an inguinal hernia (hernia in the groin). Recurrence of repaired hernia can occur occasionally. However abdominal pain associated with fever is unlikely due to recurred hernia unless if there is a obstructed bowel loop in it which is less likely according to your description as there should be progressive in that case and your abdominal pain will be more intensive within hours. If i know your age and other co morbidity (of course other than the cardiac problem which you have already mentioned here) i can give an opinion whether to re repair it. Abdominal pain may be due to various reasons other than hernia. To asses the likely causes, its important to describe the nature of pain and the exact site of the tummy. My opinion is you to look for other causes of abdominal pain other than the hernia. however if you continues to have the pain it's ok to take some paracetamol until further proper evaluation. hope you find the answer is beneficial. thank you.
