Suggest Treatment For A White Pus Filled Lump On The Upper Leg Of A Child

My 8 yr old had what looked likd a large white head pimple on the back of her upper,leg.. Popped it and a good amount of dark yellowish infected looking puss came out followed by blood and clear fluid. Its very red and sore, dime size and a visible hole at site puss released. Should I be concerned about mrsa, she was not in any high risk situations to contract that but know its highly contagious. Should she go to ER imediatly, keep an eye on it, or doctors in the morn?

Hi.
As per your case-history your child maybe having furuncle on leg.
My treatment advice-
1. As it is already ruptured, clean it with betadine solution.
2. Apply antibiotic cream like fusidic acid cream twice daily (fucidin).
3. Give an anti-inflammatory syrup like ibugesic for redness and pain if present.

It will gradually subside in 3-4 days.
Thanks.
