Suggest Treatment For A White Pimple On The Tongue

I recently found a white pimple on my tongue. I was worried that it might be a viral infection and went to my doctor. He said it didn't look like a viral infection. It has come back a couple of times and it is just a single white pimple in different spots. Should I get a second opinion and be tested. Is this serious?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

As per your complain a pimple like bump that occurs recurrently can be a Recurring Apthous Ulcer and can occur due to a commonly occurring condition like Nutritional deficiency of Iron, Vitamin B12 and folic acid, stress, acid reflux, tongue bite, excesive intake of sour and acidic foods etc..
You can take a multivitamin tablet daily for atleast one month.
If there is pain you can apply a numbing gel containing Lignocaine..
Soda bi-carb gargles can help..
Gargle with antimicrobial mouthwash like Chlorohexidine mouthwash..
Avoid stress, you can do meditation and deep breathing exercises for controlling stress..
Limit intake of sour and acidic foods..

In case if still the ulcer keep on recurring you can consultan Oral Physician and he can do a thorough clinical evaluation and if required he can advise you to get blood investigations done to rule out Vitamin B12 levels, Hemoglobin %, blood sugar levels..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
