Suggest Treatment For A Purple Lump On The Lower Lip

I am a 17 year old male. two days ago i found a purple lump on my bottom lip right about where the upper and lower lip meet. At first i thought i was fever blister so i started to pick at it, it started to bleed but it stopped after a little bit. The next day i woke up and there was a black/ dark bluish purple scab over the area that i picked. I proceeded again to pick and it bled. I just got back from school today and i notice the area is kinda light purple around my lip. So i start to pick at it again and it starts to bleed. It stopped bleeding. When i say purple lump imagine a lump about the size of the tip of your pinkie maybe a little smaller. But the size of a half a peanut. Also when i spitted earlier today i found blood, but i think thats from me picking at the skin

Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

As per your complain it seems like a mucous cyst known as Mucocele and it is formed due to clogging or ruptured duct of the minor salivary gland leading to formation of a bluish bump..
Another cause can be formation of a Hematoma which is formed due to traumatic injury.
If it is a mucocele:
On picking there seems to be a discharge containing blood and mucous and the dark purple scab is due to release of the fluids from the bump leaving the empty mucosa..
Spitting of blood is also due to bleeding from the mucocele..
It is mostly self limiting and resolves on its own..

If it is a Hematoma it will get resolved on its own..

If it reoccurs you can consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and treatment can be planned according to diagnosis..
