Suggest Treatment For A Pinched Nerve In The Shoulder Area

I have had a pinch nerve in my lower neck/shoulder area...since February 27, slept wrong on pillow. Then I got a message on February 28; Soreness has been steady, been treating with ice pack and biofreeze. Went and got Medrol injections in both shoulder on 3/7/2016 for soreness in shoulders due to heavy lifting over past 25 years. right side helped but left side has not. Now my left arm tingles a lot throughout the day/night and can go to sleep. been to chiropractor twice to get realigned and muscle therapy. all steps I have done has helped some but still have pinched nerve...what do you suggest my next step should be?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of pinched nerve in the shoulder area. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like wrong movement, bending of neck with jerk, due to injury and due to abnormal posture. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination . Doctor may order CT scan or MRI along with physical examination . Doctor may prescribe nerve supplement , anti inflammatory along with muscle relaxant . Doctor may also recommend physical therapy along with light stretching exercises . For now apply warm compresses and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain .
