Suggest Treatment For A Painful Lump On The Collar Bone

My wife has a lump maybe the size about half a golf ball on her collar bone. She has not noticed this and recently found it so it grew there fast. Minimal pain, and x-ray didnt show anything, blood work was good, and just yesterday went through a NRI? I dont think it said MRI but could have. What are the chances it shows up cancer or just arthritis, or other disease? Thank you.

General Surgeon 's  Response
hi thanks for posting on hcm. lump in the neck could be of several different causes and doesnt neccesarily conclude to be cancer if blood workup is clear(mostly cases its due not shows any lymphnode enlarged which is not with your cause) most commonly it could a dermoid cyst or sebaceous cyst which can easily be incised and drained with minor surgical procedure and not to be investigated furtherly need only examination by a competent surgeon. take care
thanks
