Suggest Treatment For A Painful Keloid On Abdomen

I have a keloid that s been on my belly button for some years, since I got it. And they do kind of run in my family. But the one on my belly has grown over time but never started hurting until now. it hurts on the inside the top part of my belly where I had my piercing. Feels swollen and hurts when you touch or press it. How can I get the pain to go down or go away without serious medical attention?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.
As per your case history of keloid, my treatment advice is -
1. Don't scratch the lesion as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Apply a hexilak gel twice daily on it.
4. Only curative treatment is intralesional steroid given by a dermatologist.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
MBBS, DDVL.
