Suggest Treatment For A Massive Brain Stroke In An Elderly Person

My 92 yr old Mother had a massive mca stroke on the left side of her brain. The neurologist said it affected 80% of her left brain. She is breathing on her own but have oxygen in her nose. Blood pressure is fine her heart beat is alittle irregular. She is in a deep sleep and some snoring. It happened yesterday and last night she was moving her left arm and touching her face but today she is not moving much at all and still sleeping. Because of her age and the stroke the doctors think she will not make much progress and will need to be on a feeding tube. They are recommending we do nothing and let nature take its place. I am distraught that what if we gave her more time could she make some progress. She can somewhat grasp my hand. If they put her on feeding tube they will send her to rehab but they keep saying is this the life she would have wanted. I feel that they gave up on her because she is 92. Any advice?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
it is called cerebrovascular vascular accident, and left MCA is dominant and 80 percent involved means prognosis is verry poor and age is also significant, so she requires daily physiotherapy and rehabilitation help only, feeding tube is better because orally if she takes it may get aspirate. so she requires supportive care only.
