Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My girlfriend just found a lump under her nipple (around 1 inch big). We have never noticed in before, in fact we had intercourse yesterday and I feel I would have noticed it there. She says it almost seems as if it is larger on the bottom.. and that there is a smaller bubble on top of it. Is there anything we can do right now to help ease her mind about it?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Lump in the breast appearing at a younger age in the breast around the nipple area could be abscess or fibroadenoma. It needs to be examined clinically to examine its size, depth and consistency to come to a conclusion as to what could it be. She may need certain investigations like ultrasound scan and Fine Needle Aspiration Cytology (FNAC) to confirm the nature of it. Accordingly, further treatment can be executed. Kindly consult Surgeon in this regard for proper evaluation and management. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
