Suggest Treatment For A Large Arteriovenous Malformation In The Brain

my son just had a bleed and was diagnoised with a large avm in the eloquent part of the brain. He is home now recovering, but has been told that the avm is inoperable since it could cause him more damage to try to remove it. How would this be treated and what are the chances that it could bleed or rupture. He has not lost any of his functions due to this 1st bleed, he just turned 44 years old.

Hi,avm inn the eloquent area of brain can be treated by SRS.

Surgery should not be done as it can cause deficits.

Chances of bleed or rupture in avm are 4 percent per year.

So I advise you to consult radiation oncologist for SRS or gamma knife treatment.

Thanks.
