Suggest Treatment For A Bump On The Eyebrow

Hi, I have what i assume is an ingrown eyebrow hair. Just a small bump on the eyebrow with a very small amount of discomfort. I was told to leave it alone but couldn t resist trying to fix the problem with tweezers. I woke up the next morning and my eye and that side of my face was swollen. The eye is about half closed and the swelling is down the side of my face and even just under my jaw. It s been 2 days and no change so should I see a doctor or is there another alternative?Thankyou.

"Hi!
Welcome to Healthcaremagic. com.

I have read your query in detail and do understand your concern.

It could be due to bacterial infection of the hair follicles.
Any history of fever?
A course of oral Antibiotics is required for 1 week.
Your doctor may prescribe amoxy- clavulinic acid 625 mg thrice daily for 5 days.
Tab paracetamol-diclofenac (eg, combiflam) combination twice a day in case of pain and inflammation.

An antibiotic like fusidic acid can be applied over it twice daily for one week.

Hope this helps!

Good luck!"
