Suggest Treatment For A Big Cyst On The Groin

I have a cyst on the top left of my groin and it s swollen. About the size of a boiled egg. There is no opening for anything to come out of it. It s deep under the skin. It s very uncomfortable and it s beginning to make my leg and stomach hurt. Should I be worried? What can I do? Is it safe to treat at home?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Cyst in groin might be related to inguinal hernia, sebaceous cyst, lipoma or cellulitis. If you can upload me a photograph and relevant medical history like your age, if you are diabetic, history of chronic cough or constipation?

Apart from this I would like to know about its size and progression if it is of constant size or increasing in size. Please write back to me with these details so that I will be able to tell you more accurately.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. B R Hudda
