Suggest Treatment For UTI

My 88 yr. old MIL is starting with the frequency and burning of an uti. Unfortunately, she is out of town. (of course;-)
Is there an otc that we can start her on until she gets home? She said she had taken a powder form dose of something that helped the last time in only a day.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I read carefully your query and understand your concern.

Your symptoms seem to be related to a urinary tract infection.

I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen to relieve the symptoms.

This is an otc medication.

I also recommend to use a cycle of antibiotics such as Ciprofloxacin which is under prescription.

Hope my answer was helpful.

If you have further queries feel free to contappct me again.

Kind regards!
