Suggest Treatment For UTI

Hi, My 97 year old husband, has a UTI problem. He had a turp 2/3 operation in 2004 and we opted in leaving a catherer in. Over the last 3 or 4 years he has visited the hospital about 3/times a year regarding get an antibotics. Now the doctors are saying, that they do not want to give him another antibotics because it runs the risk of him becoming immuned to that antibiotic. I am telling him if he takes the antibotics it will get him to start eating and not to be so sluggish. His urine is clear, no fever, after about 10 years of watching his reactions, I believe that he has a UTI that need to be treated. They said let him drink water-stay hydrated, and come back with more serious symptom. what do you think.
