Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am 6 weeks pregnant today & seem to have symptoms of a UTI. But what s concerning me is that it seems there is light pink/orange blood when I wipe on the toilet paper. I know it s from the urine because I checked when I didn t go to the rest room but it s still concerning. Should I worry much about this?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Urinary tract infections are common during pregnancy. Thus, you need to get urine examination to look for evidence of infection in urine. In case evidence of infection is detected, further urine culture can be done to isolate the cause of infection and most appropriate antibiotic effective against the infectious agent. Consult your primary health care provider for clinical assessment, investigations and thus treatment.
you have to take safe drugs which does not effect pregnancy. alkasol, nitro furadentoin are safe. however consult obstretician before treatment. get your urine culture and sensitivity test before consulltation.
