Suggest Treatment For PTSD

I am a 31-year-old female who tends to come off general anesthesia in a violent and combative fashion. In the past, I have injured a nurse (fortunately, it wasn t severely). I read that it isn t terribly uncommon for people like me (military vets who ve been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress) to wake up like this. I was curious as to how I should address this concern in the future. Can I asked to be restrained after a surgical procedure? My worst fear is injuring someone else who is simply attempting to comfort and heal me. I don t want to be that patient.

Hi, thanks for reaching out.

Anxiety may be triggered or caused due to hormonal imbalances, age, trauma, fear, panic, phobias and stress.

Identification of the type of anxiety is important.
PTSD is more of an anxiety disorder where in therapy will be very beneficial. Symptoms, like restlessness, flashback, agitation, insomnia, can be combated with therapies that may include, behavioral therapy, processing therapy, stress induced therapy, identification the cause, medications if nothing helps.

It will help visiting a therapist for counselling and appropriate identification of which therapy would be beneficial and if needed.

In the meanwhile, regular exercise, good hydration, well balanced diet, good sleeping habits and relaxation techniques will help.

Hope this answers your queries.
Wishing you good health,
Regards,
