General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

PCOS can be treated with lifestyle changes along with medication. In most persons, it is associated with excess weight. This excess weight contributes to insulin resistance.

Weight loss can help with this, it can be difficult to lose weight for some persons and consultations with specialists may be needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Michelle Gibson James, General & Family Physician
