Hello,
As you would have known by now that this disorder has no known exact cause so treatment is a bit presumptive but effective in many cases.Treatment is mainly carried out to treat symptoms and improve the quality of life. Like you are having an inability to take long trips than with the use of medications we can effectively control your diarrhea and make you lead a near-normal life so that you can go travel at your will (of-course certain precautions need to be taken). Treatment includes dietary changes (avoid food products that you feel are causing troublesome symptoms; I will advise for avoiding dairy products, fatty food as well), regular exercise, certain prescribed medications, probiotics (which are available over the counter); and of-course regular follow-up and counseling regarding your queries is required. Dietary measures will also include increasing the fiber intake, avoiding gluten-containing diet and a diet low in oligosaccharides. The medication loperamide is helpful in reducing frequency of diarrhea but there are other effective prescription medications as well. Sometimes low mood can also precipitate the symptoms so doing pieces of stuff that improve your mood will help.
Thanks.
