Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a 56 year old brother who has been diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure brought on by crystal meth use. I don't believe he is still using crystal meth. He becomes very fatigued doing light labor yet he still puts in a 40 hour work week as a prosthetics technician.
I know this is not a lot of information and I wish I could give you more, but he does not want to talk about it. Can a person get better and back to normal with this type of heart condition or do they usually get worse until death. If they usually die from this how long can they live in the state he is in before he dies.
Hi, Congestive heart failure can have good outcomes if treated, especially in early stages. The medications which are indicated for heart failure improve quality of life and life expectancy. There is a great role for healthy lifestyle as well. So, if your brother takes medication regularly, follow healthy lifestyle, he will be doing well.
