Suggest Treatment For COPD
I am a paramedic and we are discussing the advantages of Solu-medrol use in emergency situations for COPD exacerbation. Is there a definitive advantage to giving this medication on scene or en route and what is the onset for this drug. Trying to decide if giving this medication is beneficial.

In acute exacerbation of COPD, steroids treatmentrea choice.
Solumedrol being a steroid can be given in severe breathlessness in COPD patients.
It is having great anti inflammatory action. So edema due to inflammation can be relieved and thus breathing can be improved.
It is having very quick onset of action. Action starts within 4-5 minutes.
And it can be guven either intramuscularly or intravenously.
So in emergency conditions Solumedrol is beneficial in COPD patients.
