Suggest Treatment After Getting Scratched By A Dog

Last night I was getting on the elevator in my apartment building. This man got on with his dog and the dog jumped on me immediately I felt a sting in my leg. When I I got into my apartment I noticed a bloody scratch on my leg. I took pictures of the area and washed it Today the area was bothering me when I put on pants and I had to put a bandaid on it. There are dried blood marks on my leg. What should I do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

After a dog bite, or scraches that bleeds, getting vaccinated aghast rabbies is important. So you should urgently see your doctor to get that if you have already not done. Regarding the wound, it's not a big issue.

Daily wash is all that is needed.it will heal in some time. But the vaccination is important.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman, General & Family Physician
