Suggest The Ideal Dosage For Gabapentin Taken For Wedge Fracture

I had a wedge fracture L1 in April this year. I was prescribed Co-codamol 4 times a day which I am starting to reduce. I was also prescribed Gabapentin 300mgs TDS. Is it ok to reduce the Gabapentin to 300mgs BD or is this too much of a reduction? I am in a brace at the moment.

Gabapentin is used in adults to treat nerve pain. Normal dose of gabapentine is 100 - 600 mg thrice daily depending upon severity of pain. You have been taking 300 mg thrice daily. If you feel that your severity of pain had reduced then you can take gabapentin 100 mg thrice daily. Thrice daily is the dose regimen of gabapentin to maintain therapeutic level in blood. Do not take in BD dose. If you feel that 100 mg thrice daily is insufficient in decreasing your pain then continue taking 300 mg thrice daily dose. You can discuss this with your doctor also.
