My son is 24 years old and is having blood in his urine, no other symptoms....he was put on an antibiotic, the blood is some less...but still present. He sees the doctor again in a week and the are.going to do an ultrasound...what are your thoughts on what this could be?
Hello dear Understand your concern Blood in urine occur from anywhere from urinary tract.(kidney, ureter, urethra) Following are the causes: kidney infections, cystitis, stone anywhere form urinary tract, cancer, hypertension etc. You need following investigations: USG scan, urinary routine, microscopic and culture that help do diagnose above causes. Meanwhile continue antibiotics with nitofurantoin, urine alklizer, drink lots of fluids with juices of cranberry, orange and pineapple. Hop this may help you Best regards Dr. Sagar
