Suggest The Cause For Abdominal Pain, Post A Bowel Movement In Elderly Male With A Previous History Of Diverticulitis

I'm a 67 year old male. I have radiating pain , lower left abdomen, around to my back. I had a bout of diverticulitis about 20 years ago. I had been eating a lot of strawberries. It has been off and on for about two weeks. I've been using a high fiber diet, and taking Meta Muscil. The pain comes and goes, especially after a bowel movement. Reccomendation?

Hi

This is likely a recurrence of the diverticulitis and you need an exam, a ct scan of the abdomen, and probably a course of antibiotics
