Suggest The Best Treatment For Persistent Blisters On My Ankles With Severe Itching

A year and 7 months ago I started having tiny blisters around my ankles with extreme itching. It gradually appeared on the back of my upper arms. Later it moved to my thighs and lower arms. It has never been on my core. They do not itch all the time, but seem to rotate itching around to the various spots several times a day. This went on for 7 months till I went to a dermatologist. She took a biopsy but it determined nothing. I was directed to purchase a topical lotion. I t was soothing but did not alleviate the problem. In Jan 2018 I eliminated daily and bread plue ALL man made foods. Within 6 weeks the blisters went away. In August, I started occasionally eating cheese in dishes. I also started cooking with canned soups and occasionally use milk or sour cream. I returned to occasionally eating ketchup and mayo. In early Sept 2018, the places that had previously been very tiny blisters are now large, red, itching spots that develop a little knot under them. I am assuming that the problem may be milk. I have been a calf all my life but have never had problems with it. I am 73 years old, and I am tired of itching! Perhaps the cause is something other than diet, but I take no medications other than supplements and am seldom ill. Thanks for your help.

Hi,

It may be a chronic skin condition called prurigo simplex. Consult the expert dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment. There may be some triggering factor like milk, curd, milk product, sea food, nuts or else. Avoid suspected triggering food stuffs in diet. Keep away from insects like mosquitoes bed bugs,fleas..etc whish are also triggering factors. I would recommend you to take antihistaminics, oral steroid in tapering dose, application of mild steroid cream etc under observation of dermatologist.

Hope this helps.
