Suggest Suitable Therapy For Urinary Infection

Hi...Approx 10 days back, I inserted a tampoon for the last day of my period and somehow forgot about it for 4 days when it kind of automatically came out. Sine then ( about a week now) I have been having some fever on and off, severe low back pain again on and off ( seems to come on when I get the fever) some burning when urinating only when I have the fever, nausea really bad and a tender tummy. Been treated for UTI with antibiotics but does not seem to be helping

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a urinary tract infection.

I suggest doing a urine test to confirm the diagnosis.

If the diagnosis is confirmed, I suggest using a cycle of antibiotics such as Ciprofloxacin.

Meanwhile, I suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen.

I recommend drinking liquids.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
